WILAY Season One DVD Review

411manina.com has another good review for What I Like About You Season One.

I've done a variety of reviews on a number of teen-related shows during my time on 411mania. You might remember my reviews of The O.C. and Degrassi. I continue that tradition with my review of What I Like About You. Since I can remember, I've always had a certain fondness for teen drama. It's probably my favorite form of television. Where else can you see attractive people going through problems while pop music plays in the background? Plus, I think the teenage years are always interesting and complex. It's that complex period where you are forced to grow up in a hurry. If not, you might get left behind. That being said, I don't enjoy all teen drama. Some of it can be phony and fake. I can point to a number of MTV shows to prove my point. We need characters that are likable, interesting, and fun to be around.

Thankfully, What I Like About You features all of the above.

What I Like About You is aided by its fantastic ensemble cast. Amanda Bynes and Jennie Garth have fantastic chemistry on screen together. Bynes is a skilled physical comic. If you haven't seen it already, I recommend that you check out She's the Man. It's a lot of fun.

WILAY season one DVD review

DVD Talk has posted an early review of What I Like About You: the Complete First Season.

What I Like About You is a sitcom that aired from 2002 to 2006. The series
had four seasons and a total of eighty-six episodes. It is about two sisters who
live together and the various endeavors and adventures they embark upon with
their closest friends and significant others. The show has a light-hearted,
wholesome feeling, which works nicely as a family-oriented comedy.

Together, the season one cast makes for a decent team. Notably, Bynes,
Garth, and Jonathan are show's wealth of comedy. Overall, What I Like About You
is an enjoyable family-oriented sitcom. The situations the characters get into
are never really big or too dramatic, but usually have the gang getting mixed up
in a pretty goofy situation. How well the leading performers carry their roles
give the show its edge. The first season of What I Like About You is enjoyable
and will provide many laughs. While it is not the strongest sitcom out there, it
has more than enough appeal to keep viewers entertained.

Sadly, the only bonus is a 12 minute blooper reel.
